What is the order flow for business deliveries?
When you request a delivery, how a driver gets assigned depends on the order type. ASAP orders go out to nearby drivers right away. Scheduled deliveries — whether standard, catering, or special handling — are handled a bit differently depending on the order. Either way, you and your customer get text updates with a GPS tracking link as it moves along.
Details
Here's how it works, step by step:
- Request — You submit a delivery request.
- Dispatch — ASAP orders go out to nearby available drivers right away. Scheduled standard deliveries are offered to nearby drivers about 5–10 minutes before the scheduled pickup time. Scheduled catering orders or Special Handling deliveries are typically pre-assigned to a driver hours or days in advance, based on what the order needs.
- Acceptance — A driver accepts the order (or, for pre-assigned deliveries, confirms it).
- Pickup and delivery — The driver picks up the order and delivers it to the customer.
- Updates — Both you and the customer get text updates as the delivery progresses.
What's Next?
- Once you submit a delivery request, you don't need to do anything else. ASAP and scheduled standard orders go out to nearby drivers automatically; scheduled catering or special-handling orders get a driver assigned ahead of time.
- Keep an eye on your phone for text updates, or check your dashboard for a live view.
- If a delivery seems delayed or something looks off, reach out to support for help.
