What’s the wait fee if the order is delayed?

Wait fees may apply if a driver has to wait a significant amount of time. The amount varies depending on the type of delivery.

Details

If a driver arrives at the pickup location and the order is not ready, the next steps depend on how the delivery was assigned:

On-demand deliveries

If the order is delayed or not ready, the driver may choose to unassign. A new driver will then be assigned once the order is ready.

Pre-assigned or dedicated deliveries

If a driver is specifically assigned to your order, wait fees may apply if they are required to wait beyond a reasonable amount of time.

Wait fees are intended to compensate drivers for unexpected delays at pickup and may vary depending on the delivery setup and service type.

What’s next?

To avoid wait fees, make sure to:

  • Ensure the order is ready before requesting a delivery
  • Coordinate with the store for accurate preparation time
  • Communicate any delays as early as possible
